We tested multiple ways to integrate AI into a complex SaaS interface:

three-column layouts
floating panels
modal-based suggestions
All of them failed for the same reason:
They made AI feel like a plugin — not part of the product.
Recruiters lost context, trust, and control.
We designed two AI states that adapt to recruiter intent.
