A modern SaaS dashboard where recruiters and AI work side-by-side to find, evaluate, and hire candidates faster.

In short: I put the AI inside the recruiter’s dashboard with two modes: quiet while you browse, full-screen when a decision is due. It became the backbone of Circle’s hiring platform.

The problem.

Recruiting teams were operating inside a fragmented tool stack:

This caused:

  • slow hiring

  • low trust in AI

  • constant context-switching

  • poor decision visibility

AI existed, but it lived outside the product — forcing users to jump between systems instead of staying focused on hiring.

The Challenge.

Design a web-based SaaS platform that allows recruiters to:

  • use AI for real work

  • stay in control of decisions

  • see and act on live data

  • without leaving their primary workflow

AI had to become part of the product experience, not an overlay or chatbot.

The Product.

Circle Web App brings:

  • candidate data

  • job management

  • AI insights

  • and recruiter actions

into one unified operational dashboard.

How AI Lives Inside the Product.

We tested multiple ways to integrate AI into a complex SaaS interface:

  • right-side overlays

  • three-column layouts

  • floating panels

  • modal-based suggestions

All of them failed for the same reason:

They made AI feel like a plugin — not part of the product.

Recruiters lost context, trust, and control.

Final Interaction Model.

We designed two AI states that adapt to recruiter intent.

26 seconds of the real product: Ask mode, AI taking over the screen for a decision, and ranked candidates with the reasons behind each match.

1. Ask Mode

When recruiters are exploring or searching:

  • AI appears on the left

  • the main dashboard remains visible

  • users can type naturally while seeing data

This keeps AI assistive, not intrusive.
